Professional-grade lithium fire extinguishers, safety gear, and expert
guides, built specifically for the way riders store, charge, and ride.
Jerry Bloodworth used the original charger. He charged in a detached garage. He hadn't modified anything. On August 28, 2025, he still lost a three-car garage, two vehicles, and nearly $200,000.
Most riders who experience a lithium battery fire say the same thing afterward: they didn't know it could happen that fast.
eRideLife exists because the PEV community deserves better information, better equipment, and real stories from riders who've been there.

Gear that represents the community. Hoodies, tees, and caps for riders

It depends on your battery size. We size extinguishers by watt-hours — the 2L covers setups 750Wh and below, the 3L covers anything above that. If you're not sure, check your battery spec sheet or the manufacturer's website. When in doubt, size up.
Standard ABC extinguishers suppress combustion — but lithium battery fires aren't conventional fires. Once a cell enters thermal runaway, it generates its own oxygen internally. A lithium-rated extinguisher is formulated specifically for that chemistry. A kitchen extinguisher buys you nothing.
Water can actually intensify an electrical fire. It's also ineffective at stopping thermal runaway. Use a lithium-rated extinguisher for active suppression, and a garden hose only for cooling a pack after the fire is out and emergency services have cleared the scene.
Within arm's reach — not across the garage, not in a cabinet. If you have to search for it when a fire starts, it's in the wrong place.
